Being normal is a myth. I grew up hearing from my dad all the fucking time to be normal. When I would speak up, when I would dress differently, when I would act differently, he would tell me to be normal. When I decided to go to school to pursue film instead of engineering or medicine, he told me to be normal. When I chose to date a woman who was different from what my parents thought I would date, he told me to be normal.
And my whole life, I've been told to be normal. It's just in the last ten years that I've realized that normal is a myth. In a society that is sick, being normal is just blending in. And there's more to life than being normal. There's more to life than being normal.
