Rite of passage and finding purpose in life

A rite of passage is an initiation and a transition from a boy to a man, a girl to a woman.
In many indigenous traditions, a rite of passage would signify this stepping into one's fuller purpose and becoming a full-fledged member of that community.
In our modern world, we don't have a rite of passage, and my belief is that because of that, so many of us feel depressed, lost, without a purpose, disconnected, miserable.
And the way out is by bringing back some sort of rite of passage or initiation where we fully demark the life we have lived and mark the new life that we want to step into.
