Intimate Relationships as Life’s Greatest Teachers

Intimate relationships are the biggest teachers in our life. I spend a lot of time in solitude. I've spent a lot of time in or being by myself. I've been in a feminine cleanse. I have spent a lot of time at meditation centers and I don't fully understand how much work I've done and how much work I still need to do until I'm in a relationship. Every single one of my relationships, every single one of them have been the biggest initiators of my life. My first deep intimate relationship is where I learned, is where I got deported. And I saw her, I saw someone care about me so much that they talked to a bunch of my friends to create a petition, a petition that circulated all the way to the U.S. Congressmen, the U.S. Congress. That same relationship, I saw how much people depend on each other to survive. My second relationship was very turbulent, going from that to that. My second relationship, I learned about really leaning in, really leaning in and having experiences, having beautiful experiences. My third relationship was where I got married. I moved countries. I created community homes. I separated and I came back. I tried persistence and I tried living. My current relationship, my fourth relationship, I have learned about doing the work together and being committed to each other and knowing that things will come up, but can you stay together? Can you commit to each other? I've learned concepts like commitment is freedom. I've learned about tending to each other with devotion. I've learned about finding your own purpose and not having your partner be your sole provider for your entertainment, your support, your therapy. So just an invitation for each one of us to keep doing the work, but realize that the healing happens in community, especially in intimate relationships. We can't know what we need to work on until we show up in a relationship. ^rwhi899510035
