two years ago from coming to uac because i saw that you were doing different events and different lectures in affiliation with oppa can you tell us a little bit about that work that you do with oppa yes of course i was president of oppa until very recently i was from 2014 to 2020 and i'm now vice president

um and the reason i i wanted to be part of this organization is because oppa stands for the organization for professional astrology and his purpose is first of all to create a community and to provide resources for for any level it's not only for professionals whether you want to study you know we have free lectures we have a magazine

that comes out plenty of articles so it's a great centralizing force for astrologers and one of our focus is also and looking at you a young astrologer is to make astrology a sustainable profession so that people really can make a living doing it and not only survive or or starve as artists but actually

make it and thrive and be you know in abundance so our focus is to make astrology sustainable credible and accessible so you can check the website it's listed here oppa astrology.org and you know just a lot of resources you can find awesome so i'm going to put that down in

the description box below so that all of our listeners and viewers can go and check out the amazing work that you guys are doing over there at oppa so maurice before we dive into the body of what we're going to be talking about today tell us a little bit about you how you came into astrology what made you want to stay in astrology and also how did you come to be an evolutionary astrologer today

i was always interested in astrology my my mother had some of these you know popular books about your child is this sign and that sign and i was you know it was really interesting because as much as it was this sunshine popular uh and perhaps superficial uh books i will say some of these descriptions

were so accurate that i could see this book understands me better than my own family and my friends so i was always referring back to it it was my little you know personal favorite book but then when i was about 18 my normal return i started to i took a class just to go a little deeper and explore more about what it's about

and that kind of took over you know it be i was very good at it like i immediately got it and it spoke to me and i started to study on my own and then i joined a teacher i was at the time living in israel and i joined a teacher who was this very interesting woman born within on a new moon in aquarius and she

had this you know wisdom and presence and um she she introduced me to the concepts of evolutionary astrology even though she didn't call it that way it was very much about understanding you know why we're here what's our sole purpose and i will say that you know that that was what was interesting to me you know i was not into

you know the overheady techniques i was more into the philosophy and the spirituality and self-awareness really so you know for me and i know that it's doing that for many other people it was a game changer because prior to that point i was i was not really finding myself

and i was lucky that i found astrology relatively early in my life you know 18 you you you still have your identity crisis and astrology kind of put everything in place i finally understood why i am who i am and that there's a purpose to all this and that i'm not crazy and i'm saying that you know half jokingly and have not because

i think that if i had not found astrology i may have had oh you know i may have been on some medication at this point to cope with with everything else in life so it gave me a spiritual reference it gave me you know it grounded me as much as it seems like you know an abstract system it finally gave me uh a

sense of direction in life and that took over at the time i was more involved with music and i was into sound engineering and working in studios things like that but people started to ask for readings and then they asked for you know classes and it kind of grew organically like that and that was

um you know that's that's how we're here maurice i think it's really interesting the way in which astrology serves as a spiritual reference system for so many of us within our lives especially when we find ourselves becoming disillusioned with conventional orthodox religion and i know that we like to say that astrology isn't a religion but for so many of us astrology fills in that gap or that void

that religion at some points in our lives may have failed and what i hear from you is that your astrology in a sense provided you a sense of direction and a center of gravity for you to really pull the pieces of your life together and i think that that is astrology at its best regardless of what tradition of astrology we practice or whether we're traditional or modern or vedic or uranium or whatever i think that

intrinsic to our practice of astrology is this ability for astrology to enliven our lives with something more than just a material way of being within the world but it actually gives us a sense of feeling that everything that's going on around us makes sense and that we are in fact connected to something much bigger than ourselves so i mean thank you for sharing that story yeah and i will say um as you say it it's a spiritual reference because

astrology is really a study of life you know people ask about themselves people ask about what's coming up and whatever it is the question is it's about existence you know it's about decisions to make so even though we're talking about a spiritual practice it it does provide a reference for very simple day-to-day matters and that's the beauty of i

believe you know what i like about my practice is you have the white spectrum you start from the higher meaning and like you said astrology gives you a reference that there is such a thing as a higher meaning that that things don't just happen randomly you know if if you had a what a whatever crisis whether it's you know financial or emotional

you see the transit and you understand this ties into something much larger than yourself it's not an accident and you know some people may say it's an escape you know you're kind of trying to find uh a reason for your misery or for your challenges but it it goes beyond just a projection if it's something that repeats if it's something that keeps coming

back like why do a saturn transit give a particular experience and that's the the beauty of really going deep into astrology is not just saying you know you have a saturn transit pay your bills or uh get serious but it's try to understand why what's the purpose why am i challenged with these decisions and and that's

like you say it ties us into the fact that there is an intelligent force behind everything that this is not just disjointed occurrences it brings everything into a centralized uh framework and then purpose and then existence and that's you know touching on what we're going to talk about today touching on neptune definitely

now maurice before we dive into the content of our discussion there are many branches of astrology and also many styles of astrology and evolutionary astrology has been a part of the spectrum of astrological experience for quite a while now can you give us a definition of what evolutionary astrology is and how it is either similar or different from other approaches to astrology

i'll try um i think you know evolutionary astrology is a natural evolution from modern astrology which started with alan leo with dane rudyard you know in the late 19th century early 20th century this whole movement of not just looking at astrology fatalistically but understanding the

free will component that brings into the equation the the the concept of lessons that you know like we said yes we have a pluto transit and we may experience some kind of crisis what is the crisis that's number one but the question is also why the crisis

so if we incorporate free will we understand that um we have a responsibility that we are not doomed to a particular chart pattern that is either good or bad like it eliminates the malefic benefit you know you have to earn your bliss it's not just because you have a good chart whatever that means

that you're going to be you know all successful or or happy and it's not because you have many squares that you are you know going to be constantly in pain so it'll it it feeds on the fact that with free will there are many layers to the how we can express our charts and i give that example in my book

of the evolution of consciousness and that is a concept developed by the in rudyard where he speaks about astrology of transformation which was one of his last books and he speaks about these different levels that a chart can be expressed um and you know it's like saying you'll have an aries who's going to be a hothead and you know too much testosterone

and they're going to be all about you know rolling their muscles and and and yeah you know wanting to compete and overtake others and you're going to have an aries who's going to be a most amazing artist who comes with a powerful spirit of creativity and entrepreneurship and you know the doer who is going to

choose the path less travel and you're going to have the aries who is going to be the activist who's going to fight not just for their own immediate gratification but for the greater causes you know they're the one now on the streets with uh you know being on the front line of change so the same chart can express itself very differently and

we see that you know i did some research with twins who have you know some of them are born with cesarean in just a minute or two apart some of them are born half an hour apart and you may say well the ascendant's different and whatnot but you see radically different responses um and and that is because there's a different level of consciousness behind the chart

if you look at a chart what is it it's a picture of the sky you know a cockroach was born at the same time what does that mean i'm gonna live the life of a cockroach no because there's context because there's a different consciousness behind the chart and that's something we cannot see in the chart it's very important and that that i believe sets evolutionary

astrology apart from other techniques that it really highlights the fact that you have different levels of expression and these levels are defined from you know a very new consciousness to a more uh holistic and mature consciousness

and that you know the same chart can apply on a very dim level and on a very enlightened level so to me that made a big difference because that was what i was looking for and it made sense that i'm first of all i'm not doomed to you know to to my chart i am part of my child it's an organic

vehicle it's not fixed it's not rigid there's growth in it the other thing that that i find compelling in this you know we speak about faith and free will which is a big question that many people try to get to and i will agree with some astrologers who say well no everything is fated

let's put it this way you're fated to your chart you know you're born a libra you're going to be a libra for the rest of your life and there's no way around it it's just a fact and you have that square that is that's what it is you're born with it and you're going to be activated by it but what where the free will is is that even though you cannot change your chart you can change the way you use it

and i feel that's why we're giving readings in the first place it's not just about oh stay home because it's going to rain or try to walk between the drops but it's rather you know get an umbrella and and make the best of what's happening and turn a crisis into an opportunity understanding that there is fate because what is fate

ultimately we are fated to the truth you can't you you know but what is free will then it's how much time it's going to take you to to get there so yeah i mean ultimately we're all fated to be enlightened is it going to take one lifetime or is it going to take

thousands that's your free will and that's how consciousness develops wow talking to you is so comforting because because as you know i'm sure i'm a traditional astrologer traditional renaissance astrologer and i also practice uranium astrology as an adjunct to that

but over the last few episodes of the podcast i've been speaking to various people about this interplay of fate and free will and i think that after you've practiced astrology for a number of years and you've seen hundreds of charts we all whether we are super traditional or super modern we all come to the same conclusion that there is a larger backdrop of fate and within that backdrop of fate

free will exists and it may take more effort you know i think i was speaking with lee lehman and the conclusion that we came to was that it takes a lot of effort to go against things within your nature that may be fated you know like i like to sleep until midday it's probably going to take that much more effort for me to force myself out of bed in the morning to do my morning sadhana or to do my morning practice because the intrinsic momentum behind

my attitude and behind my behavior is sleep until midday but if we are able to exercise this free will component which is that consciousness piece within ourselves then we can change the fabric of even things within us that we in the past have assumed to be fated so i i think i think that all of us tend to come to this middle ground where it's neither fate nor free will but it's it's a subtle interaction between the two that is where our astrology takes place

well and if you ask me that's also in the chart because the 12th house is fate the sixth house is free will as far as i as i can say and if you continue in this natural progression that's also jupiter it it boils down to jupiter and saturn sagittarius capricorn

and that you can even see in the mythology saturn is fate and that's why we're struggling with saturn because we don't get what we want but we get what is yeah and it's a maturation process you need to accept fate you know it you get out of your tantrums but jupiter is about go it's up to you you know you want more get more

and it's very much about how far we can stretch it how far we can go and that's you know we're coming to a conjunction between jupiter and saturn and it's that's the powerful aspect of saturn jupiter it's a change of leadership as it was but it's also that interplay between fate and free will and it can be a battle i'm not getting what i want but it can also be the ultimate sense of

wisdom when you integrate both and you know that balance between what's up to you and what is not so if we speak about you know that that middle ground my sense is that we all learn that you know from a saturn point of view the rules are what they are now if you

look at the mythology during the time that cronus the titan was leading you know the great mythological world it was a time of peace it was a time of you know everything was in place everything was in order because when when you have faith faith and you don't have choice you don't make mistakes

you you only have one option and that's it and so everything works well according to a higher principle and that's how everything gets peaceful but when jupiter got you know reverse the wheel and change everything and be you know zeus was the god from the titans to the god and so he introduced free will and free will suddenly became drama after drama

and you know you have like this highs and then lows and the reason is that you're you're all all the time in trial and error and it that's where pain is pain is part of free will because if everything was fated there wouldn't be no mistake there would be no

flexibility you know every error would lead to to death there would be no margin of error so that's where we're at you know we're kind of trying to marry both archetypes i think it's really important this conversation that we're having and i know that we're not going to have time to fully flesh this out because i definitely want us to start talking about your book like now

but i think it's really important this conversation that we're having because it serves as a more holistic view of this dialogue between fate and free will than has been presented in the past and i think especially for the traditional astrological community a lot of people will benefit from hearing this conversation because within that community there is this tendency to look at the rest of the astrological world as

the other or this tendency to look at the rest of the astrological world the modern astrological world as these wild free-will enthusiasts but what i hear from you is a really mature grounded version of this intersection between fate and free will that isn't wildly saying we can do anything that we want but that is still acknowledging that we live within parameters that represent a real structure within

our universe and within those parameters we have the opportunity to engage in this trial and era to engage in that over and over again and get hurt over and over again until we learn lessons that allow us to really be able to interact with both fate and free will in a balanced mature sort of way so i'm really appreciative to be able to touch on this topic with you yeah and you raise an important point that

even though we're in a better place now as far as the astrology community and bridges exist between the different traditions there's still a lot of prejudice you know going both ways i think ultimately if we look at you know being president of our organization it's very important for us to you know to to be inclusive

um and one of the things i can vouch for you know from my personal experience is that the difference between the different schools is really a matter of emphasis and focus it's not a matter of accuracy or better or worse it's really

what are you looking for and what are you emphasizing so you know modern astrologers and if they're doing their job right because you know you do have astrologers that are not properly trained and that will you know kind of be polyamic and and you know no everything's good and

you know you you have this square it's going to be wonderful and and so it becomes fluffy but that's not when you get proper training you know that's when you study too much on the internet and you you claim authority so i don't think this is a problem for modern astrology it's a problem with just you know not having proper skills and

one thing that happens with the traditional astrologers is that they you know because there's such a rich body of knowledge they tend to be more academic about it and and go through greater rigor in their training and so this gives the impression that you know this is more established than the other

but to me it's it's more about the structure and about really paying attention to where we get educated i completely agree with you on that point because i have seen modern astrologers use concepts poorly but i've also seen self-proclaimed traditional astrologers especially this newer generation of traditional astrologers washing into the field

using traditional techniques poorly so i think that what we're speaking about on both sides of the fence is an approach to astrology that is grounded in a sense of proper training which probably also ties into a discussion of mentorship and apprenticeship but i think that that piece of where do we get our astrological knowledge from and who are the voices that are representing astrology becomes very important because

we need trained voices to speak about our astrology no matter what realm of astrology you come from so once again another point of agreement and you know the thing to understand is going back to what i was talking about with reference to oppa is that making astrology sustainable making astrology financially rewarding is is part of this because

how much are you going to invest in an education if you're not going to make a living out of this if it's just a hobby you know if you're rich and you have extra money to spend then yeah you're going to go to conferences and you're going to have that luxury of in you know indulging in spiritual studies but if you're a normal human being and

you know living on just the average uh income you are going to be careful where you invest your resources and you want a return so making astrology a profitable profession will also allow for better books to be published for better schools to be established and for the whole profession to basically upgrade and get you know

to greater rigor and and uh you know give the time for for people to really get good training i mean i'm teaching a program for two years so it's a diploma program and it's quite rigorous but if it was really up to me i would do it over four years the reason i do it over two years is

because i know people cannot invest as much in astrology right now at this stage of our evolution i cannot you know have a program as rich as as psychology in the university but the truth is it's not any less valuable than psychology and it's not any less demanding as psychology

so as we evolved in our profession as we get better and we create better programs then the the profession is also going to benefit from that and people are going to be able to make a living it's so it's going to be a kind of a snowball growth effect it's really interesting that you brought up this topic of a two-year program because last night i was writing down the structure of my own astrological syllabus that i offered to my students

and seeing whether or not the length of time should be increased or why the knowledge should be decreased and i too came to this place of a two-year training because i think that at the end of the day when you cover all of your bases and you fill in the things that you think a young student needs to know uh two years becomes a happy medium even though we do acknowledge that four years would be a more wonderful time for us to flesh it out and add an apprenticeship and a practicum

two years really seems to be the length of time that a lot of astrological organizations fall to in terms of delivering a grounded holistic approach to astrology yes i you know it's i think it's a medium that works yeah but i don't think it's really where it should stop because i'm seeing the limitations of that and like you say

a lot of it is also practice oh there's so much material to cover but then you know what makes a good astrologer you study the different techniques you study the different planets the next step what really tells you if you're going to make it or not as an astrologer is if you're able to put the pieces together it's that analysis that's the the big milestone

when you know you you need to harmonize between all the components synthesize and then astrology is a lot about that it's the art of synthesis and it requires quite a you know quite a perspective and brain to be able to to create something out of this you know big map you know so that's a lot of practice you know

that's not something you can synthesis is not something you can learn from books right you can learn about saturn you can learn about professions you can learn about this and and who abu mashard was and what he did what he did but you know when it goes down to the chart that's the challenge and i think that's a challenge we meet in everyday life because life also happens simultaneously

you know we we have to compute many different things at once and we have to make sense of many different make decisions based on many you know different inputs simultaneous input and that's how you can lead a successful life is that ability to integrate different sources together and make good

decisions and that you know that takes 20 years to leave home and be able to kind of be on your own [Laughter] and i know that we were speaking earlier about how long your relationship to evolutionary astrology has been and i know that you said that you got into evolutionary astrology back in 1992 and i was born in 1992

so i i think that that length of time one which is it's 28 years i think that that is a special length of time in terms of coming together and putting all the pieces of a study together and really making something rich and fertile out of it but that's an entire lifetime it's been my entire lifetime and um yeah well and you're already teaching and that's also part of what i was doing you know i started studying in 1990

and i started practicing in 92 so it took me two years of and it wasn't you know such an established program so we go back to these two years after two years that's when you know i started to see clients and you know i was just 20 20 21 at the time and i'm doing readings for you know people of different ages and i remember that you know they used to

come to me and when they come to my place because at the time it was not on zoom it was in person and they would come and many of them you know were asking where's my father because they had an appointment with the astrologer so they it was surprised i was so young but it evolved over time that's one thing you know i keep telling people there are

three ways to study astrology properly one of them is the horizontal you know it's the wide and the width of reading books going to classes you know whatever the internet provides so the bits and pieces that give you you know an exposure to what it is and to the diversity and you get a lot

from that then you have the depth which is finding your tutor finding a mentor finding a technique and going from a to z completing a program by accepting an authority in the field someone who can give you a reference someone who can tell you you know you're out of line or you got it you know and

and having that guidance is something that in the west is not taken in seriously enough you know when i teach in eastern cultures in japan or china or even uh middle east you know in turkey and you see that there's such a respect for teachers that you know they are carriers of

wisdom whereas in the west sometimes i'm not saying all the time but you know sometimes it's like i already know everything and i'm testing the teacher more than i'm learning from the teacher and that's something that's lacking you know to to that level of having a guru in in a traditional sense and you don't need to put your guru you know as a god or as someone that's above it all but

definitely accept that surrender and accept that guidance and that's just one of the stages so the first stage it's it's the diversity is the width and then you get to the depth but then there's a point where you only will learn from actual experience and it's only by doing charts and meeting people and there's no mentor

and there's no book that can help you there it's your own chemistry and and the ability to listen to be there and to learn well you know i never thought that this chart would manifest in such a way and that's that's a necessary step this is why it's important for no matter how advanced and how you know

experienced you are in astrology you know you know you do readings not only to help people but also to to be you know it keeps you on your toes it keeps you on the edge it keeps you fresh so if we speak about a two-year program you know that falls into that second category but then you also need to just do readings yes learn from that

definitely and you probably know and there's a saying from a yogi that says if you want to learn something teach it most definitely so you get that point where you you know enough obviously hopefully you're not starting to teach with no background but once you you're ready you use you know you you want to teach because because it's

a natural part of your practice and you realize oh my god there's so much i don't know and so many gaps i need to fill and you're learning so much by having to transmit this maurice we have gone down quite the rabbit hole and a necessary one at that and i would most definitely want to have you back on the show to continue flashing out this discussion of the education of an up-and-coming

astrologer however we do have an agenda today and that is to speak about your upcoming book on neptune the 12th house and pisces and i also saw that this isn't the first edition of it this is the second edition of it so can you tell us a bit about your book on neptune the 12 000 pisces what made you come up with it initially and also what is different about the second edition so

this is the book that was released in 2018 a second edition the first edition was published in 2004 and you know it's a whole story how it came about and why second edition let me just address the few issues and describe what the book is about so first of all it covers neptune in every house in sign and it describes it in seven phases of development

if we spoke about fate i do see neptune as one of the most important representative along with saturn that captures the element of fate because it captures all the forces that that existed before us and what we may call the forces that are beyond our control so anywhere we have neptune in the chart

there's an element of being at the mercy or being under the grace of these higher forces and we can further develop that but that's the premise and it goes through seven phases from an initial phase of innocence to a phase of loss of innocence and and trauma and victimization and then recovering

through working on our immunity so there's a whole phase of healing and what does that mean when neptune represents your immune system both on a physical and on a spiritual level um and then the spiritual development because even though neptune has a spiritual influence it's in every chart

and not everybody is going to be spiritually inclined now as you can see i also rely neptune with the 12000 with pisces which is something that traditionalists want to hang me for uh to to kind of uh merge house signs and planets like that it's it's very uh sinful well well i'm pretty sure that after this

episode they're going to want to hang us both so i continue but the reason that i am doing that is is because part of this body of work leads me to that and that there are definitely you know a support for this fusion for this um for this integration um it's interesting

also astronomically the work of gemini brett if you're familiar with him yes i am yeah he he showed that there is definitely astronomically that there's a strong connection between steins and houses because the signs are directional ares is an eastern sign

in the cosmos in the way our planet orbits the sun and then libra is a western one and so so there's there's actually a direction to not only the houses but also to the sides and that gives some resonance between the houses and signs so that resonance i won't just want to kind of bring a disclaimer here so

people are not scared that that resonance doesn't mean that houses and signs are the same obviously but that there is a thematic connection between them there's an archetypal connection between them so you know this this this book came in a very uh neptunian way you know the

whole birth of this book was very neptunian in the sense that it was not planned and it came through literally as a form of channeling when jupiter was in my 12th house opposing my natal jupiter and and i was basically writing things i did not know about

so you know it took me four years to actually break this down and make sense of what i was writing and so the first edition came in 2004 where the framework of the knowledge was laid out but then you know after a few years after i realized that knowledge

kept talking and kept revealing itself and there were more insights that came through and i felt that the first edition was more of a draft that it wasn't complete and a lot of the thought needed to be better explained and there was more material that came through and the other thing was very also practical that as i said to

you you know i i am a french speaking that was my first language and i lived in different countries and so english was not my first language and the first book was written uh you know with less experience both in the publishing world and in the my style of writing so the second edition is also more

polished it's not just double in size but it's also i think clearer and that's a challenge when talking about neptune because it's such an abstract energy to bring it in very tangible ways and yet those who you know those who read the book know that it's you know it's it's a

it's not some it's not a quick read you know it requires a lot of sitting and a lot of integration and people come back to it you know it it it has a life of its own and many many layers um so that's the in a nutshell so you know the content is neptune in each house and then planets in the 12th house and planets in pisces and neptune the

nodes and then i there's a whole section on the transit of neptune you know the fact that it's now in pisces what does that mean and then the different stages you know it's it's going to conjunct jupiter there's going to be a jupiter neptune so the two rulers of pisces coming together and then you know in 2026 there's going to be a conjunction with

saturn at zero aries wow so we're tracking basically the different stages of the current transit and and understanding also how to use neptune in transits in your child maurice that is absolutely brilliant and i had thought that initially this was the first edition i didn't realize that there were two but then when i looked back over the promo material you sent me and i saw that there was one before this

i got even more intrigued because i'm always fascinated when someone doesn't just write a new book but they update a book that they have written already because i think that that shows growth and progress and advancement of their own thought process so i'm really interested to see what you say in this one but before we go more deeply into that i think that it would be good if you gave us your internal experience or definition of what neptune is

because i think if you read the you know cookbook versions of a neptune you come away thinking neptune is delusion and delusion and drugs and all of these things which may very well still be a part of that neptunian correspondence but as someone who's written a book on neptune what do you feel neptune is at its core well like you said it is all these things

but how do you present it do you present it as just oh neptune is disillusionment or neptune is escapism rather than understand that there's a whole thread that leads to that it's you know the disillusionment is just one experience in a very in a much longer spectrum of experiences so why do we get to the disillusionment

part and if you understand the why you understand the whole cosmology of neptune so you know this is kind of an illustration neptune represents what came before us in you know if i related to the houses and the sign of pisces

it relates um you know think about it as the 12th house and think about it as you know the god of the oceans there's there's something before the birth the twelfth house is on the one hand the last house but it's also the the house that's before

the first house and the house the first house is the birthing process it's where you become yourself so i see that neptune represents that cosmic womb before you are you know what came before us what came before humans you know the earth was a lot of a lot of things currents

influences uh ejected from other places in space so we see a gestation process and neptune represents where you know when we spoke about that unifying principle you know when we first started this interview we talked about how astrology brings all the pieces together neptune is that it's the unifying factor

that goes beyond individuality that has a common denominator in everything because it is a common source so you know you are in another place i'm here time and space separates us you're you know born in 92 i'm born in 71 you know and all of this makes us

different look at our charts what is our chart date time and place it's all time and space and that's why i'm more like this and you're more like that and you you know you wear a scarf and i wore a shirt and and we have different styles and different rhythms and whatnot but if we look at our charts

we all have the 12 signs what's the difference between me and you is different doses you have more of this and i have more of something else and so the common denominator is that there's something be beyond our chart that connects us all beyond our individuality or it's the you know it is the bottom

line of what our chart all the elements of our chart at an equal dose so when we are in this original place we are beyond time and that's the function of neptune as as simple and as maybe outlandish as it seems it's our access to what is beyond time and space and that means what is beyond separation

so what is beyond time and space the values that will always be everywhere wherever you go you know it doesn't matter what century you're born what culture you're born you want to be healthy you want to be happy you want food on your table so these are kind of universal truths

that are not relative that are not defined by this culture or that century or you know this fake fashion statement because neptune represents what came before separation this in a way is a place of perfect balance

it's a place that is not uh vulnerable or susceptible to highs and lows or like we said it's not mistakes because neptune also represents those this greater truth that is all-encompassing and that is immutable it doesn't change it's a constant so neptune is the only constant in our lives everything else is in flux

but how you know when you are in crisis you know when you are confused when you lost money what do you go back to you go back to that constant you know you go back to i need to be healthy you're praying for protection or for something to to

lift you up and when there's a disaster suddenly it doesn't matter what your color skin it doesn't matter how wealthy you are it doesn't matter if you're an astrologer or a scientist you're going to help each other we suddenly you know remember where we're coming from in those trying times when all

our pretense and our attachments and our individuality is put to the side and we return to that universality and love doesn't have time and doesn't have space it is a primal force so neptune reminds us in every whether it's unconscious or it's conscious

that there is a common denominator and that's why you know we talk to trees and we talk to cats because we know that a tree also needs water and wants to feel healthy and then and the cat wants to be fed and wants to be comfortable we have a way to relate because we share those denominators but when we are born which is what i see as the first house what is

birth but separation into time and space and time and space is difficult because on the one hand you become yourself and you become autonomous but on the other hand you never feel complete and there's always going to be a feeling that

everything becomes relative you know love is fleeting and like we say you come into free will and it becomes a roller coaster of trial and errors and you're happy one day and you're not happy the other day and you're basically starting a journey through that first house that takes you to a place where

nothing anymore is taken for granted think about a baby when the baby's in the womb the baby is sheltered the baby is fed nourished the baby's in you know doesn't have to pay the rent the mother mostly takes care of everything and that's how we feel neptune is that we are in a womb and we don't need to

take to to be concerned of whether the sun will rise or not it's not up to us but something's out there to take care of us to make sure there is light to make sure there's enough wind to make sure there's enough water so all these elements water air fire light yeah and and soil nourishment we didn't create it it was just provided

and so we feel with neptune that sense of divine protection divine providence that we did not plan we're born into it we're born in a place that has everything in place to support us just like a baby's in the womb and everything's provided that's why neptune is naturally a passive archetype it's not about ambition it's not about

getting it's about receiving and it's about surrendering and it's about acceptance but what's the trick is that once you're born you have everything provided but that's where the polarity of virgo to pisces and mercury comes in is that even though everything's available nothing is free of labor

you want to eat there's food but you need to know what to eat you need to know how to eat when to eat if you're too exposed you're going to get a sunburn if you don't build a shelter so all these things suddenly kick in through pain challenges loss disease

that prompt you to learn through trial and error how to to be happy in this world and how to make it work and that's why the sixth house has to do with work it's not only work as in having a job it's work in every aspect of your life it's the fact that you have to work on your relationships

you have to work on your health you have to work on your happiness and the 12th house represents what's not up to you the things that you have no control over and you can be in a place of receptivity like you have no control over whether it's going to be cloudy or not today you have no control over you know the

spin of the planet things like that right and one third of our day is spent sleeping which is complete surrender where we relinquish control now we get into something a little more

complex with neptune is that all of us have that planet somewhere in the chart and necessarily so because that's in a way our reset option like i said when when you fail when your decisions are not right when you're confused you go back to the simplicity you go back to remembering you know

where you're coming from what's important in your life you know i don't need another hamburger and i don't need another million dollar i just need health love and safety and so that goes takes you back to that womb you know we we even see how touching you know when when we saw george floyd i need to breathe and he's calling on

his mother yeah and so like this big guy suddenly disempowered and and he can only ask for help and he goes back to the you know to mommy which is in a way back to god yes and so neptune is our ability to to remember what's really important and what really matters and after we're

not distracted anymore but it also reminds us that love is what matters and that justice is what matters and that we should aim for these universal things so one of the deepest challenges of neptune

is to actually accept to be born because from a neptune point of view we would rather stay in the womb in that universal room so from a neptune point of view we're not interested in matter we're not

interested in separation look at the mess around us because people do this of this of that and they end up causing so much trouble and so much damage life would be much simpler if we were just surrendering to the divine and this is what every spiritual book will tell you that you know whether you're a buddhist

and they tell you this is all an illusion and the moment you let go of attachments you're you know you're going to get over pain or whether it's jesus who's going to tell you you know it's in the truth is in the kingdom of heaven and all this is you know don't worry about it it doesn't matter how much you suffer down here because you're going to be rewarded up there and this is has been really intensified

during the pisces age that we're in that basically being here is temporary and that the real truth is actually in the neptune world so you know if you ask saturn is going to say the truth is

you know if you don't pay the bill you're going to be evicted but neptune says what is the truth the truth is beyond these temporary considerations and we are all one and you are your landlord you know there's no real difference between you and them so wherever you have neptune

there is a reluctance to come into incarnation to come into the material world if you look at the the triangles here you have a triangle of ascension and you have a triangle of incarnation and neptune wants to go back to the divine like i don't want to be here

so from a neptune point of view it's it's even easier to die than it is to live and that touches on our all of us because we all have it somewhere you know some have more aspects and more prominence and and you know if we speak of the 12th house people with a strong 12th house they have a very hard time in the

density of this incarnation and that's where you have the escapism that's where you know the drugs or you know the the whatever addiction you have is because there's a part of you that wants to reconnect to what's beyond the material world when your senses are overly bombarded and you lose direction

however one of the premises of the book is to explain how this all happens this existential dilemma and how the descent into matter in you know based on every house and sign how that translates uh how do we experience it where is the trauma so wherever we have neptune there is an

initial trauma that is not just oh i was bullied or oh my mother didn't you know breastfeed me enough but it's i was born it's the trauma of actually having to incarnate and then the struggle of being separated from the womb from the source and how that translate by house and

and how you eventually start to get your ego because neptune initially doesn't have an ego now you will read again in many spiritual books that we should get rid of the ego because the ego is limiting and it's causing all the confusion and it it doesn't give you the full

perspective on life it's narrow but that's not the real message of neptune because neptune tells you there's a reason why you're incarnating you're there's a reason why you left the womb and there's a reason why you need an ego so as much as we long for the return

and return to bliss and return to a place where everything is back in balance of course we don't want to be incarnated because incarnation means there's a risk of pain and suffering and people who have a strong neptune don't know how to cope with suffering

and because they don't know how to cope with suffering they need to escape get me out of this train get me out of this of this place i'm gonna drown you open the tv it's overwhelming so but the message of neptune is actually your greatest spiritual work is to accept to incarnate and it's to accept to have

an ego that's where all the pain is that's where all the challenge is so complicated it is it is complicated it is beautiful it is real and it's very human and i'm really drawn into what you're saying because i have

studied the hero's journey for a very long time on a very big chunk of my life and this concept of incarnating and willingly stepping into incarnation as a need fundamental within the spirit itself is something that i think i hear you speaking about in relation to neptune i think this slide captures it and it is about that descent

it's you know we all want to return to that place of perfection that pace of you know the womb like universal consciousness think about the fact that even though we may have been deprived in our lives and we've been uh hurt or disillusioned there's a part of us that remembers

what is love and what is unconditional love it's it you know it's part of our dna and that's what i'm talking about the place where we're longing so from a saturn point of view you you know you focus on being here and the practical aspect of earth but on the neptunian point of view you remember the bigger picture

that is part of the struggle is to accept but once you are accepting to be here you're accepting your incarnation which is what neptune is about it's about accepting the whole package you're accepting the good and the challenge and the difficult and you know this is an example you know that i would say captures

a positive expression of neptune at its best what do we see here this person was born you know without limbs and the lady standing lost her limb to a shark attack wow so they have been through a lot of suffering and a lot of confusion and pain and you see them on this

surfboard saying yes to life and that is not about saying oh it's all good it's about saying i'm accepting my contract i'm accepting the whole package you know the privileges and the

challenges back to what we were talking about earlier to the fact that even in suffering there's intelligence so eventually when we are at this place where we're able to make the best of what we have we build our immunity we're able to be

here without being crushed without being defeated without losing the battle and that's the evolution you know through this influence wow that is absolutely beautiful maurice and i'm very grateful for you sharing that and for also taking me and our listeners and our viewers into a deeper understanding of

neptune from this evolutionary perspective because honestly i was of the impression or i was existing in a realm where neptune is drug sex escape because i haven't really gone very deep into the lore of neptune outside of very crude associations of it but this concept that you've laid out in terms of
