Visual Frameworks
Turning your ideas into visual frameworks creates curiosity, keeps attention, and facilitates deeper learning. "Show, don't tell" is a basic principle of persuasion that you should always keep in mind.
It's also in alignment with how our mind naturally works. Every word, idea, or concept has a corresponding mental picture.
To make a deeper impact with your message, help others "see" what you're saying so that it's more likely to stick in their mind.
Tips For Applying It:
- Turn your idea into a mind map or visual diagram (my favorite softwares for this are MindNode and Miro)
- Use a "divergent thinking" process when creating content, taking a single concept and then imagining all the possible related ideas that radiate out from it.
- Use geometric shapes to display related sub-topics in your frameworks (e.g. 3 sub-topics = triangle, 4 = square or diamond, 5 = pentagon, and so on)
- Use pictures, mockups, and illustrations to show what you're talking about whenever possible.
