The most useful power one man (person, really) can cultivate is his ability to surround himself with other men.
Not being connected to a conscious community of men who are walking, or have walked the path is akin to a blind man fumbling through a forest, in the pitch black night, with bears and wolves seeking out his blood and guts.
There can not be a barometer, a measure of where one is at, and where he can, if he doesn’t have a group of men supporting, challenging, and nurturing him.
Indigenous, ancestral lives have community at the core of their beings. This is a non-negotiable.
As the modern system has failed, and we’re finding ourselves swinging the pendulum back bit by bit, it’s imperative that we seek out communities, groups where we are truly seen, and where we can truly see. Modern villagemaking must incorporate wisdom circles, men’s groups, and connection potlucks.
The ones we break bread with must be the ones who we can trust, who we can go to battle with, and who will push us to our edge, and walk with us.
Less talks about weather and sports. More wisdom around authenticity, purpose, and intimacy.
That’s what’ I want. What about you?
