Whose Life Are You Living?
| I've been on a kick of creating and writing the last few weeks. As a 3/5 Manifestor, my energy fluctuates. In a world where we're directed to live a life that's consistent from day to day, sometimes it's hard to be me. As I am. My biggest journey has been to find radical self acceptance for the unique persona that I carry. If you're anything like me and your energy fluctuates from month to month (or day to day), don't beat yourself up. Know that being you is an act of rebellion in a world where people are rarely encouraged to be themselves. Here's a piece around the path of self-reclamation. And if you're curious to explore how I can help you find a more radical, authentic version of yourself, look into my 1:1 coaching page. Now, onto today's letter. |
| Have you ever stopped to wonder if the life you’re living is truly aligned with your deepest values and desires? Or are you, like many, living a life shaped by societal expectations, ingrained beliefs, and the “shoulds” that have been imposed by your conditioning? In a world that's conditioned us from our childhood on what to think, how to act, and what to value, it’s easy to lose sight of our authentic selves. We get caught up in the pursuit of external validation, chasing goals that don’t truly resonate with our souls. And because of this incongruency between the life you lead and who you really are, your life feels terrible. But here's the thing: If you have that awareness, you’re in the perfect position to change your life. Unveiling the Layers of Conditioning From a young age, we are bombarded with messages from our families, schools, and the media that shape our understanding of the world. These messages can influence our beliefs about success, happiness, relationships, and even our own worth. Your values—beliefs, standards, points of reference, or other elements of identity—shape what is important to you and what is worth noticing. But what if those values aren’t truly ours? What if we’ve been living a life based on someone else’s definition of success, rather than our own? As a boy, I was precocious, full of energy. At some point, my parents and my teachers started telling me that I was being too loud, too boisterous, and that I was creating trouble. So, I started getting quieter and quieter until I became a man who's composed and calm. While now it's one of my strengths, my range of expression also got narrower. The Spiral of Growth: Breaking Free The good news is, it’s never too late to reclaim your life and start living in alignment with your true self. The first step is to become aware of the conditioning that’s holding you back. This requires self-reflection, introspection, and a willingness to challenge your own beliefs. When I joined my first men's group, I was challenged by other men to start speaking up because they couldn't hear me. I became aware of my blindside, and started realizing that me being a good boy was actually hindering my ability to express and being seen. This was my life story growing up, and now I had finally become aware of it. Finding Your “Why”: What Matters Most? One powerful exercise to help you uncover your authentic values is to consider your own mortality. - What must you give or accomplish to die complete? - What would you love to experience/receive before you die? Your answers to these questions will reveal what truly matters to you, beyond the noise of societal expectations. As the article indicates, you must learn “what stage you’re in and the exact “conditions” you need to make progress, what seems impossible now becomes inevitable…Your mind literally reconstructs how it processes reality.” A Call to Action I encourage you to take some time this week to reflect on your own life. Are you living in alignment with your values? Are you pursuing your passions? Are you surrounded by people who support your growth? If not, what steps can you take to break free from the conditioning that’s holding you back? It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. Remember, you have the power to create a life that is truly your own. A life filled with purpose, meaning, and joy. The key is to wake up, clean up, and grow up. Here’s to living a life worth living!
